Snowstorms are fun… but also hard to take photos in! So it was a treat to get to photograph Katie & Eric inside one of my favorite local greenhouses. Bonus: I had to purchase a plant to bring home to thank the shop. ;)
I love when couples decide to move forward with their dreams- for Kyla and Sam, that was an outdoor ceremony. Even with the rain, it was sweet and beautiful and perfect. Check out more of this Cedar Falls Rotary Reserve wedding day!!

Have you heard of Fox Ridge Winery, just south of Waterloo? Chances are, you haven’t— but this spot is a hidden gem for Friday night live music… and Saturday weddings! ;) I loved getting to celebrate with Susie and David last fall at the most gorgeous outdoor ceremony and reception. Dancing under the stars? Hurt’s Donuts? SIGN ME UP! I wish I could re-live this day, but going through wedding photos will have to do!
Alexandra & Andy got married on the loveliest rainy spring day in early May of 2021! This micro-wedding at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, and a backyard reception, will forever be a highlight for me.

Trent and Jessica had a wonderfully smooth wedding day in August. Friends and family traveled from all over the midwest to celebrate with the newlyweds! Click through to see more of this downtown Waterloo summer wedding.
Trent and Jessica will be getting married in just under 2 months, so it was high time to get some engagement photos taken for them! I’ve known Jess for a while, and so when she emailed me that she knew the two of them would be getting engaged shortly and she wanted me to photograph them, well, how could I say no!?
Do you remember Kathryn + Adam from this fall’s engagement photos in Iowa City!? WELL THEY GOT MARRIED! And it was the perfect intimate wedding day, with family and close friends celebrating the new couple. Snow had fallen the previous week, setting the state for lovely wintery nuptials. I’m so excited for you to enjoy this micro-wedding!

You don’t want to miss out on these wedding day portraits from Justin & Amy’s New Year’s Day elopement! They got married to start off 2021 the right way— it was so special to capture their day & the start of their new adventure together! Enjoy this sweet Cedar Falls micro-wedding.
I grew up in Cedar Falls with Laura’s family. I honestly can’t remember a time in Iowa without knowing them! So it was a fun surprise to get an email from Laura, saying that she’d love to have me photograph her wedding to Andrew. Click the post to read more.
This fun and casual winter engagement session might just be a favorite forever. Not only are Kalen + Emileigh two of my favorite humans, but we had a blast exploring Des Moines and Jester Park together. Keep an eye out next month for more photos of these two bubbly humans— they get married in March!

Niki and Sam both teach music, in different schools in Northern Iowa. In fact, they technically meet in college at the University of Northern Iowa (go figure and Go Panthers!) but didn’t start to actually interact until a few years later, post college. I love them and the photos we captured together in downtown Cedar Falls, Iowa!
Photography started out in monochrome, and although I’m thankful for color—sometimes it just makes sense to freeze the moment in the most classic of ways… Black and White! Here are some of my favorite moments from this past year’s weddings sans color. I can’t believe that I’ve photographed weddings everywhere from Cedar Falls and Des Moines to Vail, Colorado and small town Kansas! What a year 2018 has been. By the way, I’m still booking for 2019 weddings, so please feel free to send me an inquiry.
Wow. What do I say!? Lizzy, as I know her, roomed with me, in my first Ames apartment. She was a junior at ISU, and not long after moving in, this guy Nate started hanging around. He was kind of quiet at first (especially compared to her!) but slowly started sharing more of himself as we all crossed paths. Us girls figured out by the end of the year that we though he was the one for her… and we were right. ;)
I thought that November was going to be my “wedding-less month” this year. Then I received an email from Kirsten, asking if I was available the weekend before Thanksgiving! Of course, once I double checked my schedule, I said yes. :)
Hello hello hello! It has been a long while, at least it feels like it, since I’ve blogged. Or posted much of anything on any social media. After my trip to Waco, my body quit on my and I spent two days in bed. THEN our internet went out and it looks like we’ll be needing to get a new provider, so with that and traveling to see family for thanksgiving, I’m been pretty MIA. Thank the Lord for secure wifi at Starbucks and rewards stars for free drinks! (Normally I prefer to save the Starbs for traveling, and buy local coffee in DSM, but you can’t beat their internet quality. Or available outlets!)
