Rain has nothing on true love. ;) Payton & Cole planned a sweet & intimate wedding on her parents’ farm just outside of Iowa City for fall…and of course, that was the day it rained HARD in Eastern Iowa! Regardless, these two had a joyful ceremony with family members & a hoppin’ reception with multitudes of friends. Such a special wedding day!
An april fool’s wedding date means incorporating lots of jokes & fun moments… and Emily & Kyle did just that! From a prank first look, to Darth Vader’s theme during the processional and even getting Rick Rolled on the dance floor, this day had it all. Alex and Chuck have been together for many years, and decided that it was time to celebrate their relationship with a wedding and stepping into marriage! After a year of planning, this day came together like only a dream could. Summertime sprinkles of rain showered the couple with love, and they vowed yes to forever on the outdoor patio of Cedar Ridge Winery. Such a beautiful wedding day!

Do you remember Kathryn + Adam from this fall’s engagement photos in Iowa City!? WELL THEY GOT MARRIED! And it was the perfect intimate wedding day, with family and close friends celebrating the new couple. Snow had fallen the previous week, setting the state for lovely wintery nuptials. I’m so excited for you to enjoy this micro-wedding!

Audrey & Jordan knew they wanted to get married in 2020, so nothing (even a pandemic!) could stop their engagement in April. However, like every other couple this year, their wedding plans shifted. Instead of a Chicago wedding, they picked Audrey’s family’s farm near Iowa City as a venue. It was simple and stunning… see for yourself!
This wedding day is as sweet as the almond cake I snuck at the reception! ;) Cody and Noelle’s covid-altered wedding absolutely made the month of May such a joy! They married in an intimate ceremony at St Joseph’s church, with a reception at Izaak Walton in Des Moines. Click through to see photos of this wonderful wedding day!
Kurt and Kristen are a POWER COUPLE. They build friendships to last, which was so evident by their bridal party (14 friends, plus ushers and personal attendants)! It is also true for the two of them… they were friends for a long time before dating came into the picture, and then they dated long-distance when Kristen lived overseas for a year. After a whirlwind five-month-engagement, March finally rolled around!!!
Photography started out in monochrome, and although I’m thankful for color—sometimes it just makes sense to freeze the moment in the most classic of ways… Black and White! Here are some of my favorite moments from this past year’s weddings sans color. I can’t believe that I’ve photographed weddings everywhere from Cedar Falls and Des Moines to Vail, Colorado and small town Kansas! What a year 2018 has been. By the way, I’m still booking for 2019 weddings, so please feel free to send me an inquiry.
Emily and Joel are engaged to be married in January, with a wedding at the gorgeous historic Ushers Ferry wedding venue in Cedar Rapids! We too their fall engagement photos just before sunset, on the perfect evening outside. You don’t want to miss seeing this wonderful set of fun, autumn engagement pictures!
