Iowa Senior Photographers
Emilia and I share a name (in pronunciation, at least!) and a love of fashion & reading. We may read very different books and watch opposite styles of film, but it was fun to get to know her & her mom during this fall senior session! I love that she included her fencing gear, a huge part of her life! Enjoy these artsy senior photos in the heart of historic DSM.
I don’t often take senior guy photos- they just don’t come my way as often as the gals do! But Ian was such a treat to work with, and we had a beautiful golden hour to capture some memories of him on the cusp of adulthood and all that lies beyond high school.
Downtown Des Moines is always a fun place to take senior photos, even if you live in Waukee or Ankeny. There’s just so much more to explore, and we took some of Abi’s pictures around some of my favorite corners in the heart of DSM. Click through to see more photos!
This senior session was just so wonderful, and it’s crazy now that only a month ago things were still so brown!! I’m thankful spring (and summer TBH) finally arrived in Iowa, and cannot WAIT for senior sessions at the Art Center this summer when things are green & blooming!!
Elizabeth knew that she would be getting braces this spring, so we scheduled her for my senior photo package that allows her to do photos in not one but TWO seasons! We took photos in March, and I never got around to blogging them… but I’m so excited to meet up with her again and take more photos this fall.
Even with some rain, we had fun running from the east side of campus to the west and all ‘round the campanile. Between a mix of serious and fun photos, Doz rocked them all and it was a fast hour together. Carly stepped in for a few of them together… they’re so perfect for one another, it was easy to see that! Enjoy Doz’s graduation photos at ISU in Ames!
This sweet gal traveled to Des Moines just to have me take her senior portraits! It was an honor— and SO MUCH FUN! I think we went over our time (the sun definitely set on us!) but it was worth the end photos we got. Amber is a blast to hang out with, and her East Village senior pictures are some of the highlights of my career!!

Pandemic or not, time marches on. Including schooling and graduation! Cory is a 2020 graduate of Iowa State University, and he wanted to commemorate this milestone with some professional senior photos. It was a joy to meet this young man, and capture photos for him to remember this season of life. Congrats to the Class of 2020!

Last summer, I got to photograph senior photos downtown Des Moines. It was a blast! So, this summer, I loved shooting Aimee’s senior pictures in the downtown Waterloo area! Aimee is a senior at Cedar Falls High School, and is super involved in dance (both at school, and outside of CFHS)! We had a ton of fun wandering down by the river, and even popped into Singlespeed Brewery to take a few senior photos. We wrapped up our night with a fun surprise— photography smoke bombs!
