I’ll rarely pass up a courthouse wedding! Heading downtown Des Moines for a sweet celebration of love, followed by photos and sometimes a fun dinner, is such a treat. This day brought the heat - both literally and metaphorically. I hope to have a few more spring and summer elopements this coming year!!

I’m so thankful that this couple let me join their intimate Reiman Gardens wedding celebration in April- it was a beautiful day.
A winter tromp in the woods is good for one’s mental, physical, and apparently- creative!- health. I wandered around a newly discovered park near my home on a cold, sunny afternoon and decided that this was indeed the perfect location for an editorial session, inspired by the JCrew catalogs of days gone by. The only thing that would have made this shoot better? Some rouge sheep (or Highland cows!) and green Hunter wellies!!
Marissa and Moose are such a dynamic couple. It’s always so fun to see couples who have known each other for a while - these two go back to middle school! Alli and Clint are fun- they don’t take themselves too seriously, and it’s no surprise to me that they decided to fall in love and get married. ;) I’m so excited to get to hang out with them again this weekend… this time for their WEDDING!! in an airplane hangar, no less. It’ll be amazing!!

Jackie and I were friends in high school, and it’s been so sweet to look back at our friendship over the past 15 years & count the many times she & Collin have had me photograph them and their growing family. I wish these two lived closer to me so we could hang out again- it was so wonderful to get to capture their love in the city where it all began, Ames! These two met at ISU, and it was perfect to celebrate their wedding in Mackenzie’s hometown (with a few photos in Kildee Hall, and London Underground, of course!)
2022 was a much busier year of photographing weddings than I expected, but in the sweetest way. I had SO many wonderful couples to work with, and we saw snow, rain, and extreme heat. 9 of the 12 months held weddings, and each one was full of kind souls that made the long days and sometimes overnight travel worth it.
This wedding day… one of the best couples, and just the most kind humans. I’m so excited to share a few highlights from Maddi and Ryan’s wedding at Rustic Rose Barn, just north of Des Moines in central Iowa!
I’m so thrilled to get to know these two - they’re also ISU Alumni (go Cyclones!) and we had so much fun hanging out on a warm October evening this year. Abby and Thomas will be getting married on campus, in Ames, next year and I’m just so excited to get to capture their love then, too!
Alondra and Austin celebrated their marriage, family, and blended lives on a gorgeous August day in the heart of downtown Des Moines. The Surety Hotel brought the perfect elegance to their wedding day, and I know it’s a wedding that family and friends will be talking about for years to come!!

The sweetest day— as any Iowan knows, March can be the most turbulent of months. Yet, the grace of God shone (as well as the sun!) and we had a beautiful Saturday for this sweet couple to celebrate their marriage with friends and family from around the country!
Have you heard of Fox Ridge Winery, just south of Waterloo? Chances are, you haven’t— but this spot is a hidden gem for Friday night live music… and Saturday weddings! ;) I loved getting to celebrate with Susie and David last fall at the most gorgeous outdoor ceremony and reception. Dancing under the stars? Hurt’s Donuts? SIGN ME UP! I wish I could re-live this day, but going through wedding photos will have to do!
