Maddi and Ryan met me at one of my favorite locations in Iowa- Ledges State Park!- for their engagement photos. We had the PERFECT summer evening… no clouds, and a light breeze to keep the humidity off! Highly recommend going to Ledges on a Monday, as there are barely any people around. This August wedding celebration in Fort Collins, Colorado was elegant, simple, and so precious to me. Joel and Libby have gone from mere acquaintances to co-workers, then best friends, and finally a whirlwind romance and wedding. Ethan and Heidi began dating in college after becoming friends. Ethan was interested in Heidi, and asked her out …she was a little clueless at first, but soon realized his intentions and figured that she enjoyed his company, so why not try dating!? They’ve been together ever since! Ethan proposed in November, and both have since graduated from their schools in the Cedar Rapids metro and are planning a fall wedding.
Heather and Clinton’s wedding day also took place in Sioux City, Iowa and Nebraska this past weekend. June is such a wild card month, with torrential rain storms and hot sunny days. Thankfully, their wedding day was the latter and honestly, just gorgeous for an early summer wedding! The sun rose early and stuck around through the reception, shining down love on the newlyweds.
It’s been a busy summer of fun and travel. I can’t believe that we’re almost halfway through it already! Clarissa (the sister) and I traveled to Chi-Town, I camp counseled High School girls for a week, and we celebrated the 4th of July. What else could you ask for?! :)
The gardens were crowded with hundreds of people, but there was still plenty of space on the lawns to set up blankets or lawn chairs. We brought in dessert and wine, and sipped while we wandered through the flowers and fun art exhibits. A band played music by the butterfly wing, and children ran around waving balloon swords and animals. It felt festive, but not overwhelming…the perfect mix!
