The sweetest day— as any Iowan knows, March can be the most turbulent of months. Yet, the grace of God shone (as well as the sun!) and we had a beautiful Saturday for this sweet couple to celebrate their marriage with friends and family from around the country!
Have you heard of Fox Ridge Winery, just south of Waterloo? Chances are, you haven’t— but this spot is a hidden gem for Friday night live music… and Saturday weddings! ;) I loved getting to celebrate with Susie and David last fall at the most gorgeous outdoor ceremony and reception. Dancing under the stars? Hurt’s Donuts? SIGN ME UP! I wish I could re-live this day, but going through wedding photos will have to do!
This wedding was a challenge, mainly due to the INTENSE cold! January doesn’t play around in Iowa, but thankfully we had some beautiful sunshine for this intimate downtown wedding at Bash DSM!
Alexandra & Andy got married on the loveliest rainy spring day in early May of 2021! This micro-wedding at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, and a backyard reception, will forever be a highlight for me.

I’ve been waiting for this wedding for over 12 months… so it was a joyful experience to have it arrive, and to have a WARM day in November for this stunning couple to celebrate their vows! This day was full of sweet moments & joyful celebration after being postponed from May 2020. David and Olivia have walked through a lot of life adjustments in the past year, but I’m sure they’d say one of the best was getting married! I’m so glad we were still able to celebrate with family & friends in the luscious DSM Botanical Gardens!
I can’t begin to tell you how much this wedding day means to me. It was a story completely unique to itself, and an honor to capture through the ups and downs. From Sierra’s first look with her dad, to the “second kiss” she and Dalton shared just after being pronounced husband + wife, to the emotional toasts given by her sister and his brother… this day will forever remain close to my heart. Do you remember Kathryn + Adam from this fall’s engagement photos in Iowa City!? WELL THEY GOT MARRIED! And it was the perfect intimate wedding day, with family and close friends celebrating the new couple. Snow had fallen the previous week, setting the state for lovely wintery nuptials.
