I’ve been waiting for this wedding for over 12 months… so it was a joyful experience to have it arrive, and to have a WARM day in November for this stunning couple to celebrate their vows! Bri and Morgan married at the historic Rollins Mansion, just outside of downtown Des Moines, and it was perfect. Click to see more!
I will probably pull back on photographing families in 2022… but after seeing sweet photos like this, maybe I won’t! Leave your vote in a comment if I should do family pictures in the upcoming year. ;)
These two were the MOST fun— proof that self-proclaimed un-models can rock any sort of photo session with the right photographers! I set up this session as part of a mentoring connection with Melissa and it was a blast. Bri and Isaac stepped up last minute to model after previous plans fell through and it was just meant to be! Thanks for braving the chilly fall weather, you two! Hope it was as fun for you as it was for me! :)
Once you’ve picked a wedding venue and date, the next thing couples usually do is chose a wedding photographer! Often, a great question to ask your photographer is if they include an engagement session… read more to find out why!

Occasionally I get a request for some updated headshots or branding photography work. It’s a lot of fun to get to meet a variety of entrepreneurs and frankly, people often looking forward to updating their photos!
Looking for a photographer’s preferred wedding venues in the central Iowa area!? Wonder no more! I’ve blogged some of my favorite venues to shoot (or attend) a wedding at. From outdoor event spaces to churches to barn or modern venues, I’ve got you covered! (Don’t forget to email me once you decide on your favorite and let me capture your big day!)
Skylar is a senior at a high school here in the des moines area and she emailed me about taking her senior pics. We had a wonderful night, and she totally brought the vibes to her senior photo session!
Am I a travel influencer yet!? HA! I wish. ;) But nope, just a photographer who loves to travel and will ALWAYS be happy to share about the adventures abroad!! Click through for my first time adventuring in Naxos, Greece!
I love capturing wedding days in central Iowa, and Prairie Moon Winery is one of the best hidden venues in the area! Just outside of Ames, it’s a stunning space and it was a joy to photograph Ada and James’ wedding here in August!
Trent and Jessica had a wonderfully smooth wedding day in August. Friends and family traveled from all over the midwest to celebrate with the newlyweds! Click through to see more of this downtown Waterloo summer wedding.
The dream of visiting Greece came about in high school, when I watched the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (and later, Mamma Mia) for the first time with my three best friends at the age of 16. The four of us talked about traveling together, but with two of them married, and us all working full time, crazy opposite schedules… I decided that I didn’t want to wait for something that probably wouldn’t ever happen. Click to read more of this dream come true trip!!!
Emma invited me to join her in Fort Dodge to capture her life with her chickens, favorite cat, and of course out on a dusty country road! Nothing could be more “IOWA” than this senior session!!
Enjoy Wendy + Drake’s sweet engagement photos around the Des Moines metro!

A few favorites of Jenna’s senior photos in downtown des moines!
I loved getting to explore downtown Waterloo with these two— they just moved “back” there… Mallory grew up in CF, and she and Aaron met in college at UNI! So, how fitting that these two will begin their married life in the Cedar Valley again.
Tyler and Brooke’s day was perfect, even with the random rainstorms that stopped in unexpectedly! They have the very best friends and family, and the celebration thrown at The District Venue in Ankeny was NOT one to miss!
I hope you enjoy a few of the photos from my time in Joshua Tree!
check it out, and leave me a comment with what you wish your wedding photographer would have told you ahead of time!!
