You are not ready for the adorable couple that is Annie & Riley!! We had a great time enjoying the sunshine and wild sunset at Water Works Park in the heart of Des Moines. This location never disappoints!! And neither, apparently, do my couples. 😍
This wedding brought me SO much joy! From the heartfelt toasts by family, the friends celebrating the couple on the dance floor, and the warm hospitality extended by the couple and wedding party… I couldn’t have asked for a better day to celebrate with Grace and Theo at the 1868 Farmhouse in Boone!!
This sister-run small business hired me to take some branding photos last fall, and we opted to do them indoors since we had a gloomy & cold November day to work on. Thankfully, these studio photos really pop and bring a new level of professionalism to this fun business!!
Meeting a sweet babe and getting to take lifestyle newborn photos at home is always a joy! It’s even better when you know the parents pretty well. ;) Thankful to have had the chance to meet this precious little girl and take photos of her family.
The sweetest day— as any Iowan knows, March can be the most turbulent of months. Yet, the grace of God shone (as well as the sun!) and we had a beautiful Saturday for this sweet couple to celebrate their marriage with friends and family from around the country!
Have you heard of Fox Ridge Winery, just south of Waterloo? Chances are, you haven’t— but this spot is a hidden gem for Friday night live music… and Saturday weddings! ;) I loved getting to celebrate with Susie and David last fall at the most gorgeous outdoor ceremony and reception. Dancing under the stars? Hurt’s Donuts? SIGN ME UP! I wish I could re-live this day, but going through wedding photos will have to do!
Spring Mini-Sessions are a go! Click the link to read more info, and head to the Contact page to email me. :)
It’s so hard to narrow down my top 5 places for happy hour (or drinks in general) in the Des Moines area! But, I think I’ve done it… and I’m sharing with you so that you can also enjoy some of the incredible local spots for a brew or craft cocktail (or mocktail!). Enjoy, and make sure to share with your friends— everyone benefits!! <3
Capturing each stage of life is so unique, and newborn sessions are one of those that just really stand out as special!! I treasure the few photos I have from my early weeks of life, especially the ones with my parents holding me in the hospital. So it’s a joy to capture my friends lives as they transition into parenthood, and take photos that they’ll hopefully treasure for a lifetime :)
This fun winter engagement photo session in Des Moines just made me wish we could always have such pretty snow!! It was so fluffy and magical— and perfect for these two, since they both love winter!
I think one of the most UNDERRATED photo sessions to do is maternity pictures! I think they’re a beautiful way to remember this unique season of life— especially for those expecting their first child. Click the full blog post to see more.
This blog post has been in the works for 3 years, I’m ashamed to say!! But it’s time… finally sharing this little post of thoughts on what to wear for your senior photos with all of you!!
Elizabeth booked 2 sessions with me for senior photos last summer- one before braces and one during (because SUMMER!!). I’m so glad we had a session in the summer, because the lighting was MAGIC and her ideas were amazing! We started off at the High School pool — she dives on the team!— and ended in a dream field of wildflowers. SO obsessed with these senior portraits!!
Check out Tatiana’s updated headshots for her business, Virtyoully!!! These branding photos are going to look great on her social media and website. :)
Just me playing wedding decorator, really. ;)
Sophia’s love for music, fun colors, and bright personality meshed together perfectly in this summertime senior session! This gal won’t be a high schooler in Des Moines much longer, and I can’t wait to see what she does after graduation!
Sarah and Ben are adventurous and fun- I’m so glad our paths crossed and hope to see these two through my lens again in upcoming years!
Back on one of the most beautiful islands I’ve experience- here’s what went down!
This wedding was a challenge, mainly due to the INTENSE cold! January doesn’t play around in Iowa, but thankfully we had some beautiful sunshine for this intimate downtown wedding at Bash DSM!
Josh and Haley invited me to Minneapolis, Minnesota to take some engagement photos of them… with an airplane!! And we also were surprised to find out Mother Nature wanted to join, and brought the snow. A perfect January day in the Midwest, right!? Enjoy!
