Do you ever meet people that immediately feel warm and familiar? That’s Kirstin & Sean! We met just under a year before their scheduled wedding, when they hired me to take engagement photos in the Des Moines metro (since they live in the area!). Despite the gloomy day, we had a wonderful time together and I only wished we had longer. Fast forward a few months, and Kirstin emailed me, inquiring if I had availability to photograph their wedding… in Carmel, Indiana at the gorgeous Black Iris Estate! After confirming that I could, we set about making plans, and what seemed a few short months later— a perfectly wonderful early October day arrived!
Kirstin and Sean met at Purdue, and moved to Iowa- where Sean received his masters from good ol’ ISU! ;) They’ve been together most of a decade at this point, and we bonded over their love of cats, travel, and Parks & Rec! (Are you really from Indiana if you don’t love the local government employees of Pawnee!!?) Their families and best friends made their wedding so personal, and the joy truly was palpable on this long-awaited afternoon. Enjoy some highlights from the eventful day!!
