Clara and Duy (pronounced “you-ee”) bring so much depth and joy to any room they enter. These two are genuinely some of the most naturally funny & enjoyable humans I know, and I LOVED getting to hang out with them to capture their relationsip in their first “official” photography session together!
Marissa and Moose are such a dynamic couple. It’s always so fun to see couples who have known each other for a while - these two go back to middle school! But you’ll have to click the blog title to head into the post to read their actual story. ;) I can’t wait to capture their Clear Lake wedding day this fall!
This winter blessed us with mild temps and little snow until almost mid-January, meaning that the late December and early January engagement sessions were easily able to be outdoors! Rachel and Simon brought so much energy to their session, and the sun brought gorgeous golden hour & a little extra warmth. It’ll be the best day, celebrating these two + their vows in summertime!
Alli and Clint are fun- they don’t take themselves too seriously, and it’s no surprise to me that they decided to fall in love and get married. ;) I’m so excited to get to hang out with them again this weekend… this time for their WEDDING!! in an airplane hangar, no less. It’ll be amazing!!
This sweet early morning session at Ledges State Park never migrated over to this blog, so I’m sharing it (may or may not be 10 years later- oops!). Jackie and I were friends in high school, and it’s been so sweet to look back at our friendship over the past 15 years & count the many times she & Collin have had me photograph them and their growing family. Summer and rooftops and photos with your best friend & fiance! What could be better?! (Maybe including ice cream… or kittens… but otherwise, I can’t think of a more perfect evening!) Keaton & Hannah tie the knot this month (eloping in Iceland!) and then we get to celebrate with their family + friends in Atlantic, Iowa in July!

Snowy winter photos are always so pretty (but so cold hahaha). Thankfully, we had a decently warm afternoon in December to sneak these photos in! The sunshine didn’t hurt, either. :) Enjoy highlights from this session just outside of the Des Moines metro!
Fall engagement photos are always the most sought after, and last year was no exception. Thankfully, Joy & Austin were able to make an early November date work to sneak in photos before winter hit, and I got to spend golden hour at one of my favorite “secret” parks in DSM! Still had some great color (just a little bitter wind, too!). These two are so goofy together, and I can’t wait for their wedding this fall!
Oops! We’re already into the month of March, and I never blogged highlights from my first ever Valentine’s Minis! Here are a few favorites from my sessions… hope you enjoy them. :) Leave a comment if you think I should do more holiday/themed minis in the coming year!
Snowstorms are fun… but also hard to take photos in! So it was a treat to get to photograph Katie & Eric inside one of my favorite local greenhouses. Bonus: I had to purchase a plant to bring home to thank the shop. ;)

These friends. I miss having them in town, but I’m so glad they’re living life in my hometown and doing some good work and community building there. These photos will always be sweet to me… and hopefully, to them!! We took them just up the road from where Kylie studied at DMU, and honestly I love the Rose Garden in every season…but especially fall. :)

Engagement photos for friends is the best- because we just get to hang out in amazing light and be silly together. ;) This engagement shoot was no exception! Michelle and Matt are some of the best people I know, and their partnership is delightful. I can’t wait for their November wedding in West Des Moines this fall!
I’m so thrilled to get to know these two - they’re also ISU Alumni (go Cyclones!) and we had so much fun hanging out on a warm October evening this year. Abby and Thomas will be getting married on campus, in Ames, next year and I’m just so excited to get to capture their love then, too!
These two laughed (and kept me laughing!) through the entire hour we spent together. I’ve known Emily’s grandparents most of my life through church, and it’s so so fun to see her all grown up now & planning her life and wedding with Kyle! They’re bound to have an adventurous life together for the years to come.
