I know it’s only October, but looking back on this past year, I’m just so thankful and amazed that such incredible couples have chosen me to capture their wedding day on film. (Ok, it’s digital, but it’s more fun to say film! And who knows? Maybe someday I’ll add in some fine art film elements to my wedding photography packages!) These are just a few of my favorite outdoor and indoor photos from my weddings over the past year. I’ll do a more comprehensive blog post at the end of the year, but for now, it’s just fun to reminisce on these sweet days! From proposals to engagement photos to weddings… these are my people. Brides & grooms who are kind, joyful, adventurous, romantic, and who have hearts of gold. I couldn’t do this without them!
Sweet first looks in the forest and sunset wedding portraits in front of a pond that was prettier than it smelled!
It’s rare to see the bride and groom do a bird-seed exit. Olivia & Phil did, and I’m so glad! It was fun and hilarious and beautiful!
I’ll take all the Iowa winery weddings, please and thank you! Also, all the mushy-gushy romantic wedding photos. Please do make out. You’ll thank me. ;)
October weddings in the golden light of harvest. MMMMM this wedding in the Twin Cities up in Minnesota was a favorite.
An elegant, black-tie December wedding in Des Moines? Ok. Sign me up!
OH the joy! I love this moment of Jan and her new husband celebrating after their woodsy wedding!
Indoor portraits during January or outdoor (greeeeen!) wedding photos in May—I love them both!
What do you love about wedding photos? Do the joyful or tearful moments speak to you more? Do you gravitate towards a lighter color palette more attune to spring, or a rich, deep one for winter? I’d love to know! Also, I’m still booking 2019 weddings and would love to have you (or your engaged friend) shoot me an email about wedding photography! <3
