Alex and Michael brought such class and style to their intimate wedding day! They decided to forgo the “big white wedding” and do a small one- with just their parents!- instead. Alex began her day with hair and makeup at her airbnb, with mom and best friend joining in. Once she had been fully pampered, it was time to get buttoned into her gorgeous wedding gown! Her best friend made the trip all the way to Des Moines to celebrate before the ceremony, and helped get Alex into her dress- and then of course, celebrated with some champagne!

Michael waited at their new home- and when I arrived, we re-arranged some furniture to make space for their first look. These two together just make sense, and it was fun to watch them beam with love at each other! After a few portraits, we headed to the Hotel Surety for a few family photos, and then ran across the street to the Historic Polk County Courthouse for the civil ceremony.

The papers were signed, the vows spoken, and many kisses later, these two were pronounced married. 😍 A few more photos, and then the family and couple celebrated into the evening with drinks and dinner at the swanky Mulberry St Tavern! The perfect ending to a stunning November elopement.
