This late summer, elegant downtown Des Moines Iowa wedding was a hot (and windy!) one but so timeless and stunning. Surprisingly, a lot of my couples are NOT from Des Moines- Kaylan grew up in small town Iowa, and Matt is from Texas. I met Kaylan through one of my best friends, and we overlapped a bit in the young adult scene here in Des Moines before she relocate for work…and met Matt. ;)

After some serious fun together, they decided to commit to forever (while moving to Colorado!!) and planning a wedding (in Iowa!!). It was a blast getting to capture their love in both states. And when their wedding day rolled around, everyone was calm and full of the sweetest joy. There were so many special moments on their wedding that I still reflect on! Like the fun playlist the bridesmaids had on while the girls got ready at the Embassy Suites in East Village, or the tears when Kaylan’s dad saw his baby girl for the first time. The crazy wind we fought during wedding portraits. And all the laughter everyone shared throughout the whole day! I live for wedding celebrations like this: where the people are kind, the moments are genuine + the whole day is seamless!
