We had a deliciously beautiful evening wandering our alma mater of ISU. Summertime is ISU at its most calm, and in some regards, its most enjoyable season! Enjoy Liz and Chris’ engagement session. :)

I wish these two lived closer to me so we could hang out again- it was so wonderful to get to capture their love in the city where it all began, Ames! These two met at ISU, and it was perfect to celebrate their wedding in Mackenzie’s hometown (with a few photos in Kildee Hall, and London Underground, of course!)
I’m so thrilled to get to know these two - they’re also ISU Alumni (go Cyclones!) and we had so much fun hanging out on a warm October evening this year. Abby and Thomas will be getting married on campus, in Ames, next year and I’m just so excited to get to capture their love then, too!
These two laughed (and kept me laughing!) through the entire hour we spent together. I’ve known Emily’s grandparents most of my life through church, and it’s so so fun to see her all grown up now & planning her life and wedding with Kyle! They’re bound to have an adventurous life together for the years to come.
This wedding was such a beauty, and we had the perfect day (a bit muggy at first, but what else is new in Iowa!?) to celebrate Laura + Derek’s vows! Check out this stunning couple and their Prairie Moon Winery day!
This wedding brought me SO much joy! From the heartfelt toasts by family, the friends celebrating the couple on the dance floor, and the warm hospitality extended by the couple and wedding party… I couldn’t have asked for a better day to celebrate with Grace and Theo at the 1868 Farmhouse in Boone!!
I love capturing wedding days in central Iowa, and Prairie Moon Winery is one of the best hidden venues in the area! Just outside of Ames, it’s a stunning space and it was a joy to photograph Ada and James’ wedding here in August!
This spring wedding at Keller Brick Barn was a day for the books! Click to see more of Kayla and Michael’s wedding day.
Fall vibes, a golden field of grasses, and changing leaves can only mean one thing… fall engagement photos are HERE! I love this time of year, as nature transitions to what will be winter. It’s the brightest time of year for color! And these bright humans— Geoffrey and Kristie— brought lots of laughter & kisses & sweet moments to their engagement session at Grimes Farm in Marshalltown, Iowa. Click the link for more!

Fall weddings so often get rained on, and this day was no exception. Torrential downpours in the morning caused a little stress for family members of Brian + Rebekah, and for Cyclones who waited out a rain delay before the first October football game. Thankfully, the sunshine decided to join the party and a beautiful wedding day in Ames was had!
Photographing friends happens quite often in my line of work. Anyone out there surprised at all? Nah? Me either! But it was a bit of a surprise when these two asked me to photograph their fall wedding! I’ve known Brian since childhood in Cedar Falls, and we’ve become better friends since he decided to attend Iowa State University four years ago. Rebekah’s older sister is a friend of mine, so when these two started dating it felt like worlds colliding!
Savannah and Harrison met through Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Both of them are students there, and involved in the military and ministry. They both value leadership, faith, and fun! I’d known Savannah for a few years (as acquaintances) and although I hadn’t met Harrison until the day we took their engagement photos, we got along great. Both of us are NEEDTOBREATHE fans, so really, what else is there to know!? #immediatefriends
Wow. What do I say!? Lizzy, as I know her, roomed with me, in my first Ames apartment. She was a junior at ISU, and not long after moving in, this guy Nate started hanging around. He was kind of quiet at first (especially compared to her!) but slowly started sharing more of himself as we all crossed paths. Us girls figured out by the end of the year that we though he was the one for her… and we were right. ;)
I’m still so in awe that this evening happened! (Even though I knew about it for months in advance!) Morganne has been one of my best friends since we met 4 years ago at Iowa State. We’ve walked through a lot of life together and it’s so so bizarre that we’re actually old enough to be getting married, not just talking about it. But when Morganne told us girls about Bobby (this guys she liked) and then a few months later, when we met him… we just knew that he was a great fit for her.
Sara & Matt met at Iowa State University their freshman year of college. They dated while in school, dated long distance, and finally have settled in St. Louis, where they live, work, and got engaged!!! They’re planning a wedding for October 2019 and after spending an evening with them, I can tell you it will be wonderful!
Lizzy and I met through a church small group about 3 years ago. I didn’t know her very well for a while, except that she was an agronomy student at Iowa State University, had a bubbly personality, and loved to travel through school! The next year, we ended up being roommates (which means I got to know her a lot more!) and found out that she bakes when she’s stressed, enjoys watching One Tree Hill, and was falling in love with a guy named Nate. I’ve been able to watch their relationship progress and grow from (almost) the start. It’s been full of trials and excitement, and I’m so excited to see these two finally get married in December!
Nick and Kenzie’s day was full of details, family, and friends that mean much to them. It was intimate and incredibly sweet! Even though our Iowa Fall has felt more like Spring, and poured for a few hours straight during the afternoon of their wedding, the rain couldn’t stop this love one bit. :)
