Getting to reconnect with friends, past clients or a blend of those makes my job extra special. Miranda (through her friend Haley) had me capture her ISU grad photos years back, and it means SO much that she and Cody asked me to photograph their sweet wedding day! It was a tender affair, with lots of sweet hugs, a few tears, and much laughter.

Nothing makes a fall wedding better than the sweetest people getting married! This day was full of joy and fun, and I’m a huge fan of this couple!
So much of wedding planning can be overwhelming- it’s easy to get decision fatigue. Any good photographer will have plenty of location ideas for engagement photos, but here are a few to get you started planning!
I’ll rarely pass up a courthouse wedding! Heading downtown Des Moines for a sweet celebration of love, followed by photos and sometimes a fun dinner, is such a treat. This day brought the heat - both literally and metaphorically. I hope to have a few more spring and summer elopements this coming year!!
Iowa State University quiets down for a month over winter break, and we took advantage of that to capture some moments of Elizabeth & Zachary on the campus where they met, fell in love, got engaged and are planning their next steps. Please enjoy these lovely winter engagement photos!!
November increases in popularity each year with couples getting married, and I truly love it. It’s a very underrated month! Gwen and Brady, however, are not underrated- they’re incredible, and everyone knows it! Click thru to see more of this elegant wedding at the 1868 Farmhouse.
Couples who choose their own path when it comes to planning a wedding -well, I’m a fan immediately! Both Kallie and Geoffrey grew up out of state, and life brought them to Iowa and together. They planned a gorgeous, intimate, and FUN wedding celebration at the Des Moines Botanical Gardens…and I hope you enjoy viewing their day as much as I did photographing it!!
spring weddings! sunshine and rain! sweet vows and silly dance moves!
I’m so thankful that this couple let me join their intimate Reiman Gardens wedding celebration in April- it was a beautiful day.
Check out this gorgeous summer fairytale wedding at Irishman Acres!
This unique morning wedding at the DSM Botanical Gardens brought so many family & friends together to celebrate Brian & Amanda!
A winter tromp in the woods is good for one’s mental, physical, and apparently- creative!- health. I wandered around a newly discovered park near my home on a cold, sunny afternoon and decided that this was indeed the perfect location for an editorial session, inspired by the JCrew catalogs of days gone by. The only thing that would have made this shoot better? Some rouge sheep (or Highland cows!) and green Hunter wellies!!
I’m a sucker for a heartfelt outdoor ceremony and elegant indoor wedding reception, and Abby & Thomas’ wedding day had both! Iowa State University’s campanile was the perfect backdrop, the rain held off until just after the ceremony, and all in all, this was the perfect start to a beautiful marriage!
Marissa and Moose are such a dynamic couple. It’s always so fun to see couples who have known each other for a while - these two go back to middle school! But you’ll have to click the blog title to head into the post to read their actual story. ;) I can’t wait to capture their Clear Lake wedding day this fall!
Comfort and Devin’s story is just starting, and it was so touching to witness their marriage vows & tender love. I’ve only barely had a chance to know them, since Comfort only arrived back to the USA in late fall, but every interaction I’ve had shows me that these two have what it takes for not only a long, but loving, thriving, and community-centered marriage!
This winter blessed us with mild temps and little snow until almost mid-January, meaning that the late December and early January engagement sessions were easily able to be outdoors! Rachel and Simon brought so much energy to their session, and the sun brought gorgeous golden hour & a little extra warmth. It’ll be the best day, celebrating these two + their vows in summertime!
The sweetest couple, Kirstin and Sean, planned their dream wedding day for back home in Indiana. They invited me to come along for the journey, and I’m so very thankful that we got to celebrate their love on the most gorgeous early fall day at the historic Black Iris Estate!!
Two souls, bound by time and love- married in late spring on a perfectly wonderful afternoon. Surrounded by family and friends, they laughed, wiped away happy tears, and danced far into the night. See more of Erin and Andrew’s vibrant Glen Oaks wedding on the blog!
This couple chose Jasper Winery as the backdrop for their colorful late summer wedding and I couldn’t have loved it more!! Not only do I have the pleasure of sharing their wedding photos, but I get to call them friends. Click through to see the most beautiful Indonesian-American wedding I’ve seen!
Alli and Clint are fun- they don’t take themselves too seriously, and it’s no surprise to me that they decided to fall in love and get married. ;) I’m so excited to get to hang out with them again this weekend… this time for their WEDDING!! in an airplane hangar, no less. It’ll be amazing!!
Being a graduate from ISU and having lived in Ames for 5 years, it’s always a joy to get to celebrate a variety of life milestones back on campus. Kayla and Pablo met in Ames, and married at their church across the street from the MU on a beautiful Friday in May. I can’t wait for you to see this sweet wedding day!
