Audrey & Jordan knew they wanted to get married in 2020, so nothing (even a pandemic!) could stop their engagement in April. However, like every other couple this year, their wedding plans shifted. Instead of a Chicago wedding, they picked Audrey’s family’s farm near Iowa City as a venue. It was simple and stunning… see for yourself!

View this sweet country-rustic wedding day in Story City! Full of gorgeous laughter, a stunning lace wedding dress, French blue suits, and bridesmaids in flowy burgundy wine gowns… you’ll feel like you’ve been transported into a most celebratory wedding!
Whitney & Daniel snagged the most popular day of 2020 for their wedding… October 10! (Aka 10/10/2020!) They had a fabulous day planned but with Covid-19 changes, they decided to switch to a more intimate day, celebrating with family and close friends in Des Moines. Fall showed up in perfect form, and Whitney and Dan tied the knot under warm October sky. Enjoy some of my favorite photos from their backyard wedding day!
Clover Barn has been my dream wedding venue since Kim & her husband built it back in 2017. I even blogged about it when I visited in 2018! However, none of my brides chose it as a venue. It wasn’t until early 2020, when Kim’s younger daughter, Sierra, got engaged, did I even have a chance. And let me tell you… it was worth the wait. This wedding was INCREDIBLE, full of beautiful details, and even kinder people. So much love for this couple and day!

Oops… I’ve been working on blogging these wedding photos for a week now! Worth the wait, they sure are. Kirsten & Mike married outdoors on a cool, rainy Saturday in the woods of Michigan. These two met at Au Sable Institute, where they interned during a summer and fell in love with the land & each other. Mike proposed to Kirsten on a bench there just last summer, and they finally married on their dream wedding date (8.8.2020!) despite a pandemic and surprise rainstorms.
Megan and Evan’s wedding day remained a gorgeous celebration of love, despite the months of hectic re-planning due to Coronavirus. They kept their original date, and chose to marry outdoors in the gorgeous space of Rock Creek State Park in central Iowa— with just immediate family and a couple close friends to witness their nuptials. This wedding day is as sweet as the almond cake I snuck at the reception! ;) Cody and Noelle’s covid-altered wedding absolutely made the month of May such a joy! They married in an intimate ceremony at St Joseph’s church, with a reception at Izaak Walton in Des Moines. Click through to see photos of this wonderful wedding day!
Mary Beth and Dan planned their dream wedding day for the last Friday in April. We chatted on the phone in November, and again in person in March. What none of us knew was that a global pandemic would radically change their wedding day plans… but never, ever, their marriage plans. ;) Instead of a large wedding ceremony at St Ambrose with a reception full of friends at the Tea Room, these two held an intimate ceremony. But, even their closest friends couldn’t be stopped from cheering outside the church. Click through to see more of this sweet spring wedding in downtown Des Moines!
Newly minted bride and groom, you sneak away with your wedding photographer to grab some romantic and picturesque photos on the lush island of Kauai. After all, it’s not every day that you get married in Hawaiian paradise! These wedding portraits will be some of your favorite photos for years to come.
I STILL CAN’T BELIEVE THIS DAY HAPPENED! Scratch that, I can’t believe this past WEEK was real life!
Holy Moly, Hawaii was the dream of a lifetime come true and these photos are just the very start of what I hope will be many successful trips to paradise to photograph lovers and dreamers and adventurers. Kauai and Oahu, you’ve got my heart and all the money in my travel account forever. :) Just need to get some more beach weddings booked there in 2020 and 2021, mmmk?!

The perfect fall wedding day— you don’t want to miss this blog post. Sara and Matt finally got married, and it was the most beautiful ceremony & reception out at Sticks Des Moines!
Fall weddings so often get rained on, and this day was no exception. Torrential downpours in the morning caused a little stress for family members of Brian + Rebekah, and for Cyclones who waited out a rain delay before the first October football game. Thankfully, the sunshine decided to join the party and a beautiful wedding day in Ames was had!
Nothing like a cozy cabin feel on a rainy fall wedding day! Check out Eric + Katie’s September marriage celebration, in Johnston at the wonderful Stoney Creek Hotel.
This August wedding celebration in Fort Collins, Colorado was elegant, simple, and so precious to me. Joel and Libby have gone from mere acquaintances to co-workers, then best friends, and finally a whirlwind romance and wedding. World changers at heart, these two will have a lifetime full of adventures together! There wedding day was no less an adventure. Click the blog post to read more and see wedding photos!
WOW. Where to begin with this wedding day!? Gabby and David had a beautiful summer day for their Chateau at White Oak wedding. A little overnight rain led to a cloudy morning, but as the clouds cleared and the sun appeared, humidity rose and we remembered that August never feels like the end of summer. ;) However, just a few blocks away from the church where these two married, David will finish up school this fall semester at Iowa State.
