I’ve always offered professional headshot and branding photography… but I feel like it’s something I rarely share here. That’s about to change! I love offering high quality and personal photos to other business owners (especially women in small business!) and headshots to anyone who needs a few updated photos.
Intimate and romantic photos take the cake for “best kind of shoot”. Even better? Doing them spontaneously at home! Amelia and Kurtis live above the city skyline, with a perfect view of sunset. After taking photos for her small business (check out Amelia’s art!!!) Kurtis joined us on their patio for an unprompted “anniversary” session of sorts. 18 months almost of marriage, which is just as valid to celebrate! Click the blog link to see more.
My favorite photos from my wedding photography in Des Moines, Iowa. Enjoy some tender moments and joyful memories of so many wonderful wedding days in the Midwest!
What’s better than family photos? Family photos in the fall, when the leaves have just turned brilliantly, but still hang on to their homey branches. I loved photographing the Ha family this autumn, and think you’ll love meeting them in this blog post, too.
My sweet friend Rachel asked me this summer about my availability to photograph her family after the arrival of her first child, Evy. I was, of course, over the moon! In-home family photos take the cake for just about anything… especially during winter. ;) Click the post title to see more sweet newborn photos!
Kyle, Kenzie, and I had a wonderful evening in downtown Des Moines, photographing their engagement photos. These two made conversation and shooting a breeze. Enjoy some of my favorites from this joy-filled engagement session!
This gorgeous fall wedding stole my heart! From the perfect wedding venue of Harpor’s Vineyard to some of the most fun people ever in this bridal party, I want to live this day over and over again!

How to pick the best wedding veil for your dress? What styles are even out there? Lace or plain? The questions regarding veils never end. However, in this blog post, I’ll cover some tips and suggestions covering veils from birdcage to fingertip length to cathedral veils!
The perfect fall wedding day— you don’t want to miss this blog post. Sara and Matt finally got married, and it was the most beautiful ceremony & reception out at Sticks Des Moines!
3 years ago, Kyle and Megan had a date at Ledges State Park to hike and enjoy the fall leaves. This October, they’re engaged and planning their June wedding… and we took engagement photos out at Ledges! It was the perfect fall evening, so take a peek at this cute couple. ;)
Des Moines continues to grow and expand, meaning there is something for everyone in this city! You can find endless cafes, restaurants that range from strange to high class, shops full of items either vintage or artisan-created. Whether you're in Des Moines for a vacation, looking for stay-cation ideas, or just something to do on a random afternoon in the city, here are some of my suggestions!
Anne is a senior in Waterloo, so we made the most of our time capturing senior photos for her on a stunning October evening. Click through to see more of this woodsy, nature-filled, laughter-bringing senior session!
Fall is always a popular time of year for family photos, and 2019 has been no exception! Check out two of my favs and their cute kiddos.
Niki and Sam both teach music, in different schools in Northern Iowa. In fact, they technically meet in college at the University of Northern Iowa (go figure and Go Panthers!) but didn’t start to actually interact until a few years later, post college. I love them and the photos we captured together in downtown Cedar Falls, Iowa!
Fall weddings so often get rained on, and this day was no exception. Torrential downpours in the morning caused a little stress for family members of Brian + Rebekah, and for Cyclones who waited out a rain delay before the first October football game. Thankfully, the sunshine decided to join the party and a beautiful wedding day in Ames was had!
Late summer and early fall are some of the prettiest times in the Midwest. Yellow wildflowers pop their shiny faces out of deepening grasses, and storms roll in at sunset to replenish the fields. Megan + Evan’s nature filled engagement session is up on the blog and sure to make you smile!
Nothing like a cozy cabin feel on a rainy fall wedding day! Check out Eric + Katie’s September marriage celebration, in Johnston at the wonderful Stoney Creek Hotel.
I’m behind on editing and short on time.. so here’s a quick little blog post of Lisa and Mitch’s sweet late summer engagement photos. These two ooze fun and playfulness, and I’m SO excited to party with them when they get married in 2020!
