2022 was a much busier year of photographing weddings than I expected, but in the sweetest way. I had SO many wonderful couples to work with, and we saw snow, rain, and extreme heat. 9 of the 12 months held weddings, and each one was full of kind souls that made the long days and sometimes overnight travel worth it.
I love when friends connect me with their friends… especially when those new friends have a boat! ;) Jake and Nicole graciously invited me through my friend Michelle to hangout with them on July 4th last year, and we had a great day on and in the water. Now they’re expecting a sweet babe, and wanted to capture some photos during this season of maternity.
These friends. I miss having them in town, but I’m so glad they’re living life in my hometown and doing some good work and community building there. These photos will always be sweet to me… and hopefully, to them!! We took them just up the road from where Kylie studied at DMU, and honestly I love the Rose Garden in every season…but especially fall. :)
Fall engagement photos seem to be the most popular thing… good thing it is such a wonderful time of year, and this fall we had lots of good color! :) Enjoy Erin & Nathan’s engagement photos!!
I love capturing those sweet early days at home with your newborn baby. And winter seems to be my busiest time for these sweet newborn photos… so here’s a session from earlier this year that I somehow missed blogging! Enjoy!
I love when couples decide to move forward with their dreams- for Kyla and Sam, that was an outdoor ceremony. Even with the rain, it was sweet and beautiful and perfect. Check out more of this Cedar Falls Rotary Reserve wedding day!!
This wedding day… one of the best couples, and just the most kind humans. I’m so excited to share a few highlights from Maddi and Ryan’s wedding at Rustic Rose Barn, just north of Des Moines in central Iowa!
It’s finally acceptable to share that I’m listening to Christmas music (have been for a few weeks hehe) and decorating my house!! A year ago, owning a home was just a dream & a wish. Now I’m finally here- and ready for the holidays.
Some beautiful fall engagement photos in West Des Moines for your enjoyment!!
Newborn photos are always a treat for me- I just wish I could stay longer to snuggle them, every time. ;) I’m so excited that I’ll have a few more newborn sessions this winter to keep me fresh!! Enjoy sweet Nellie when she was just a few weeks old.
Lupe and I had a blast running around downtown before the sun set back in early September, and I’m so glad we had a gorgeous evening to capture some great photos for her to remember senior year by!
Engagement photos for friends is the best- because we just get to hang out in amazing light and be silly together. ;) This engagement shoot was no exception! Michelle and Matt are some of the best people I know, and their partnership is delightful. I can’t wait for their November wedding in West Des Moines this fall!
I’m so thrilled to get to know these two - they’re also ISU Alumni (go Cyclones!) and we had so much fun hanging out on a warm October evening this year. Abby and Thomas will be getting married on campus, in Ames, next year and I’m just so excited to get to capture their love then, too!
Alondra and Austin celebrated their marriage, family, and blended lives on a gorgeous August day in the heart of downtown Des Moines. The Surety Hotel brought the perfect elegance to their wedding day, and I know it’s a wedding that family and friends will be talking about for years to come!!
These two laughed (and kept me laughing!) through the entire hour we spent together. I’ve known Emily’s grandparents most of my life through church, and it’s so so fun to see her all grown up now & planning her life and wedding with Kyle! They’re bound to have an adventurous life together for the years to come.
A postponed wedding date couldn’t stop these two from fully enjoying their wedding ceremony & reception with family and friends in Ankeny! The District Venue was the perfect setting for this simple yet glam wedding afternoon.
Maffit Lake is absolutely gorgeous, and was the perfect location for Elle’s late summertime senior photos with her horse. She rides competitively, and will probably continue to show in college, so it was perfect to include Franklin in her photos!
This day was SO HOT but you’d not know it from the photos!! Regan, Grant, and their whole crew were troopers and we had a wonderful August wedding day in Pella at Sun Valley Barn!
Fall is almost here- and it’s always my busiest season, so I’m always thankful when we get summer family photos in. :) Keeps my schedule more sane, and you get more of my focused attention!! These turned out so great & I’m glad we had wonderful weather for them!!
Enjoy a few favorite images from Kendra’s downtown senior photos in Des Moines, Iowa!
