Lizzy and I met through a church small group about 3 years ago. I didn’t know her very well for a while, except that she was an agronomy student at Iowa State University, had a bubbly personality, and loved to travel through school! The next year, we ended up being roommates (which means I got to know her a lot more!) and found out that she bakes when she’s stressed, enjoys watching One Tree Hill, and was falling in love with a guy named Nate. I’ve been able to watch their relationship progress and grow from (almost) the start. It’s been full of trials and excitement, and I’m so excited to see these two finally get married in December!
Lizzy moved to Lincoln, Nebraska for graduate school and Nate is working in southern Minnesota. I’m still in Iowa and so thought originally thought maybe we’d do engagement photos in western Iowa, Omaha, or Des Moines. It worked out that the three of us were in Ames on a rainy Sunday afternoon, so that’s where we ended up taking engagement pictures. After all, ISU is where these two met! :)
We have had the RAINIEST fall here in Iowa! These clear umbrellas have saved my butt multiple times! Also, HOW CUTE are these two!? UGH I can’t handle them!
The photo below is a true genuine moment. I told Nate to whisper something romantic in Lizzy’s ear and apparently he said, “I don’t know!” hahahaha. TOO hilarious!
We headed inside to the College of Design building for some photos away from the rainy weather. These two killed it! One prompt was for them to dance, and even after I stopped photographing, they continued to dance. I love it! They’ll go far in life together!
I just love you two! Can’t wait to watch you to promise to walk in love forever this December in Boone. It’s going to be a magical, memorable wedding day! <3
