Maddi and Ryan met growing up in small town Iowa, where they went to school together. They dated for just over 6 years before getting engaged last summer and will be officially married this fall!! These two compliment each other so well- Maddi is a petite preschool teacher, while Ryan is a quiet, taller car enthusiast and auto technician! They really balance each other out. :) They’ve walked through long distance during college, and now enjoy spending time with their doggo and remodeling their first home together!!
Since they also enjoy spending time in the beautiful outdoors that Iowa (and the world!) has to offer, we opted for Ledges State Park as a great location for engagement pictures. It really is such a diverse space, and we found both wildflowers and sandbars to incorporate for this photo session. Maddi sported a cute white dress (with pockets!) that she’ll wear later for a bridal event, while Ryan kept it chill with a white t-shirt & khaki pants. They switched into jeans halfway through and we splashed around in the water a bit— which felt great on a humid July evening!!
Before our session, Maddi mentioned to me that they were a little nervous about the shoot, but we had so much fun, and it warms my little photographer heart to know we captured some great moments of these two!! I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in September!
