I suppose that everyone feels nostalgic about childhood and hometowns, so I’m not unique in that. What is special to me, my job, means that I get to share some of my favorite spots and humans with you all, here on my blog. Jess and I literally grew up together, reading books + playing make-believe + dress up. Our younger sisters’ shared birthday parties, and Jessica listened to my stories of Spy Kids, while I indulged her horse girl dreams. Even a couple years apart in different states, and later countries!… and we’ve still stayed friends. Although we don’t talk all that often, it’s easy to pick up conversation together.
Michael entered the picture in high school (I think!?) so I’ve known him well over a decade as well.. not in near the same amount (he really doesn’t say too much!!) but he’s been a faithful constant for Jess, in years of distance and health issues and all that life brings. They’ve settled into the heart of Cedar Falls, with adult careers and daily habits, and long walks with the dogs (just no beach, this is Iowa after all!). It meant SO much to get to celebrate their relationship with some photos. I know the grandma’s and moms will be happy to have something more than a selfie for the fridge. ;) Jessie, thanks for letting me capture you both in this stage of life. Love you long time. 😘
