I've had this blog post queued for a while, but it took a stormy morning to post it. These sunny photos will definitely help you remember that the violent thunder outside won't last forever! ;) And I'm so thrilled that these two friends are welcoming me in to celebrate their wedding day with my camera. Nick and Kenzie's joy is contagious, and if shooting their engagement photos is any indication, their September wedding will be full of fun and dancing and laughter!
I had eyed this sweet little family run orchard for the past 5 years. (I drive by it every time I go back to my parent's house in Cedar Falls!) Nick is from Gilbert, a small town near Story City, so I suggested we meet up at Storybook Orchard to start our session. The owners were so kind, and it was the perfect backdrop for a spring evening. If you're near the Ames area, I suggest checking them out! They carry apples (of course) but also other fresh produce.
Time for an outfit and location change! Ada Hayden is another great location for engagement photos. I hadn't photographed out there for a while, so it was good to be back. MMMM the light that night was divine. And keep a lookout for the canoe!
