As a photographer, I’m leaning more into playful, documentary style photographs these days. I want to capture more of how your life FEELS and less of the stress of trying to get your young kids to smile & look at the camera simultaneously. Inviting play and activity into your family session leads us into a more relaxed territory, and generally will get you equal if not better quality images overall!
The H family just moved outside of Cedar Falls to an acreage, and it was so fun rolling up on a gorgeous sunny summer evening, with the kids excited to show me around their new home! Youngest daughter was a bit wary of me, but she warmed up a bit and especially enjoyed letting everyone dote on her & push her swing. ;) I took a blend of photos that were candid and posed, and we let the kids (and dog) play the entire second half. A tiny bird landed on me (!!) and we saw a rainbow across the soybean fields…and of course, ended with popsicles.
